South Jersey Children's Choir

Rehearsals

Discovering Choir (1st-3rd)  meets Friday and Monday from 4:00-4:45, 3 weeks a month, avoiding holidays.
Learning Choir (4th-7th) meets meets Friday and Monday from 4:45-5:30, 3 weeks a month, avoiding holidays.
Advancing Ensemble (7th-12th) meets Sundays 6:00-7:30, 2 weeks a month, avoiding holidays.
Liturgical Choir will rehearse in the daytime hours at a time that will be determined by the group.
 
Location

316 North Broadway Pitman NJ. Some rehearsals will take place across the street at the Church of the Nazarene.
For all rehearsals, park in the Church of the Nazarene parking lot, disregard towing signs, we have an agreement with the church. 
3 minutes from the Rt 55, Glassboro 322 exit and the Rt 55 Pitman exit. 
Ample on-site parking,   Parent waiting area onsite.
Close to local shops on Broadway and chain stores (Target, groceries, Lowes, etc) minutes away.
Fees

$80/month, September - June. 

Music Fees
Discovery Choir is not charged a music fee.
All other Choirs and Ensembles are charged a $25 music fee per season. This covers copyrights, tracks, photocopies, transcription costs, printing costs, binders and office materials for all students, regardless of age or group.
This fee is charged in September and January. and April to cover music for that concert. 
Seasons

We hold 3 seasons: September - December, January - March, and April-June. Concerts are held after each season.
Each month there are 3 weeks of rehearsals and one week off. 
Please note our calendar carefully.
Performances

Discovery Choir, Learning Choir, Advancing Choir all perform once a season, three times a year. 
A Halloween In-Costume Solo Showcase is held in October (optional) and an auditioned Cabaret is held in Spring. 

Liturgical Choir performs throughout the year on select Sundays at a variety of churches, never on Easter or Christmas. 
Fundraisers

To keep life sane, The SJCC does not subject our families to constant fundraisers, candy sales, etc.
We offer:
A Donations Drive before every concert that family and friends can participate in via QR code.
Those who donate are entered in a drawing to win a sizable gift card.
You do not have to be present at the concert to receive a gift
All seasons have a concert playbill with booster ads. 
Older students participate in singing bucket drops at local Targets, local Supermarkets, etc every spring and fall. 

 
Attire

All Choirs wear:
Old Navy/Gap School Uniform pants/shorts/skirts in Navy on the bottom.
Our own design polo shirt on top (we will supply at cost)
Black dress shoes or all-black sneakers (clean), black socks or hosiery. 
We are happy to order these for you to take an item off your list. Orders are placed in week 5 of each season and distributed in week 8.
Phones

Discovery Choir and Learning Choir are not permitted to have phones on in rehearsal. 
They may have a phone in their possession, but all phones must be turned completely off during rehearsal. 
Advancing Choir is encouraged to use a phone or recording device in rehearsal to record their parts.
